Here's the website for the village of Slapton, in the Vale of Aylesbury,
a few miles South of the market town of Leighton Buzzard. Our postal address
may be Bedfordshire, but the village itself nestles about half a mile inside the
borders of the county of Buckinghamshire. Slapton is a fairly unremarkable
village on first sight, but it has a rich history and is situated in some lovely
countryside, in the Northern lee of Ivinghoe Beacon, towards the North-Eastern end
of the Chiltern Hills.
Despite Slapton spelling "not pals" backwards, it's quite a friendly place –
and many of our former residents are still in regular contact with the village.
We hope that this web site will be not only a source of information for the present
occupants, but also a link to our many friends, who now live elsewhere.
For the most up-to-date news on what's going on in and around the village, look at
give notice of changes and developments that are likely to impact the village and
surrounding area, as well as covering environmental and policy matters.
The
pages offer information that's topical to those buildings and the villagers who support and frequent them.
Significant local events and matters of interest get their own pages, which can be accessed through the
page, where information on local organisations, contacts and local services can be found.
